*Join us in promoting your attraction, hotel, restaurant or tourism service
by participating in:*
*the Adventure of the Puget Sound*
*We invite you to participate in Undercover Tourism, a free, interactive and
fun scavenger hunt promoting tourism in the Puget Sound region. *Destination
Marketing Organizations [DMO’s] from around Puget Sound have joined together
to develop a regional program encouraging visitors and residents to
experience our dynamic destinations. Participating CVB’s include Snohomish
County Tourism Bureau, Tacoma Regional Convention + Visitor Bureau,
Seattle’s Convention + Visitors Bureau and Washington State Tourism.
“Undercover Tourism” is an interactive, website-based scavenger hunt with
changing themes. Through the “Undercover Tourism” website or mobile device,
registered visitors may choose from a list of businesses and items to find
[e.g. special bottle of wine at a wine shop, particular art piece at a
museum, one special animal at zoo, sculpture in a park, exhibit in an
attraction,..you get the idea]. Visitors will then be asked to photograph
themselves at as many locations as they possibly can during that month’s
theme and upload them to the site. A grand prize drawing will be held at the
end of each theme period. The more places a person visits, the more chances
they have to win!
*[WHY YOU SHOULD PARTICIPATE]*
By participating in the scavenger hunt as one of the ‘hot spots’ to visit,
you will drive visitors to your door and support tourism. To participate, we
ask that you provide an exclusive deal or special offer for undercover
tourists [visitors], such as ‘buy one, get one-half price’ or ‘a free
corkscrew from a bar or winery’, etc. Be creative!
*[WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU]*
Our first theme is *SHOPPING* for the months of mid-November 2010 through
January 2011. Please send us a photo of your business, a description of your
attraction/service and your deal or special offer to amy at snohomish.org
20, 2010.* You will then be added to the list of hot spots to visit on our
“Undercover Tourism” website. This listing will also link directly to your
website to give visitors more information and your business more exposure.
There will also be an online booking engine provided by SCTB partner ARES.
Participants are asked to work with ARES so that reservations can be booked
and tracked through the campaign.
For more information on participation or posting your information, please
