Snohomish: Then and Now has posted a new item, 'Grand Army of the Republic
Monument'

The Snohomish County Tribune estimated that between 4 and 5,000 people
“witnessed the dedication of the G.A.R. monument” on May 30, 1914, and it
began with a parade from town – “the biggest ever seen here,” reported the
paper in bold type.
Of course, you don’t have to worry about that many people showing up for my
second annual tour of the G. A. R. on Saturday, October 23rd at 10am. to
which
you are invited. Follow the signs to the caretaker’s shed at the end of the
drive at 8601 Riverview Road, Snohomish. Allow an hour and half, prepare to
walk
on uneven ground and the tour will be conducted in rain or shine (last year
it
was gorgeous). A suggested donation of $10 will help support the website --
