*History and Literature combine in Everett Public Library’s author event
**A Gala Evening with Timothy Egan and Nancy Pearl on April 6, 2013*****

EVERETT – National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winning author Timothy
Egan will speak at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave.,
at 7 p.m. on April 6, 2013. Egan, author of *The Worst Hard Time: The
Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl, The Big
Burn, *and other popular histories, will give a slide presentation focusing
on his most recent book, *Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher:  The Epic
Life and Immortal Photographs of Edward Curtis. *****

Following his presentation, Egan will be joined by librarian Nancy Pearl,
the author of *Book Lust* and its sequels, as well as a regular commentator
on books for NPR, for a question and answer session.

Both books and wine will be available for purchase at this free event,
hosted by the Friends of the Everett Public Library and generously
sponsored by Rodland Toyota. The event is a fund raiser for the library’s
annual children’s Summer Reading Program.  No tickets are required. Doors
open at 6:30 p.m.****
