Inspire the next generation through family history research.****

The Burlington Public Library’s is launching an innovation program, ****

*Making Connections Through ROOTS. *

 ****

In this library-based program, 11th grade students and adult genealogists
will learn and develop basic research skills then apply these skills to
researching the students’ family histories.****

 ****

Genealogy research experience is not required in volunteer in the ROOTS
project.****

Come learn more about this innovative pilot project and the role of the
volunteer genealogist mentors at one of two choices of orientation
sessions. ****

You need only attend one orientation session. Attending the orientation
does not commit you to volunteering for the project..****

Free training for the volunteer genealogists will be provided at the
Burlington Library every Monday in June and July 2013, 1:00-3pm. These
trainings are available to the volunteers and the public free of charge.
The trainings are optional to attend but will help the volunteers in
preparing to research with the students. If you are not available to
volunteer in the ROOTS project but would still like to learn the
fundamentals of genealogy research you are welcome to attend these free
classes.  This project is funded by a grant from the Paul G Allen
Foundation to the Burlington Library Foundation.
