Subject: Opportunities to be a part of AAM in 2014

The 2014 American Alliance of Museums conference is coming to Seattle
May 19th – May 21st, and as a member of the local event planning
committee I would like to remind Snohomish County Heritage
Organizations that there are still ways to participate!

Your museum or organization hopefully received an email from AAM
planning committee with the attached RFP for event proposals. If you
responded to this, great! This email is to remind you that while many
of the evening events have already been selected, there are still MANY
ways to participate. Primarily, mmuseums are encouraged to host an
open house in conjunction with the official “Open House” of the
conference. On Saturday, May 17 participating museums will be asked to
open their doors for AAM conference attendees, free of charge, and
place welcome signage at the entrance. For a list of participating
organizations, visit http://www.aam-us.org/events/annual-meeting. The
local Public Programing committee is still meeting to discuss other
ways local area museums can participate, including hosting a special
exhibit for the month or week prior to the conference in conjunction
with the conference’s theme of ‘The Innovation Edge.’ If you are
interested in learning more, please contact me. 4Culture supports AAM
in Seattle, and we are working towards helping make a memorable
experience for the 4,000+ visitors that are expected to attend.

Best,

Brandi
