A suggestion for personal reading as well as a holiday gift:

Tulalip, From My Heart: An Autobiographical Account of a Reservation
Community

By Harriette Shelton Dover
Edited and Introduced by Darleen Fitzpatrick
Foreword by Wayne Williams
Hardcover, 307 pages
Photographs, bibliography, appendix, index
University of Washington Press
ISBN 978-0-295-99093-4

This book has been in process for some time and was just published in
October by the University Press. Harriette was the daughter of Tulalip's
William Shelton and, like her father, she spent her life preserving and
reviving their native heritage. Harriette passes on stories that she
heard from elders telling of pre-treaty days, the hard life on the
reservation in the early years, her own Indian boarding school experience,
her family, fishing rights and the modern era.

You can buy it at bookstores, on amazon.com and most libraries have copies
to check out.
