Please read this excellent summary of the current State budget proposals.
Access to primary sources in Washington State Libraries and Archives are
critical in this world of sound bite and hyperlink history.  The digitizing
and new media interpretation can't exist without preserving the original
materials for accuracy and context.  Not to mention the need to preserve
and document our historic places and cultural resources by trained staffs.
