*History and Hors d’oeuvresSunday October 16th • 4 – 6 p.m.Stillaguamish
Tribe Speakers Tamara Neuffer & Gloriana Tatro*
Tamara Neuffer, Outreach and Education Coordinator for the Stillaguamish
Tribe Natural Resources Department, will discuss the cultural and
ecological importance of protecting Pacific Coast salmon. Neuffer will also
describe the Pacific Coast salmon life cycle as well as protection and
habitat restoration projects in the Stillaguamish watershed. The
presentation includes information about treaty rights and co-management of
the fishery.
Gloriana Tatro, A Stillquamish Tribal member, will share traditional cedar
and bead work from her collection.

Come early and view our new Native American exhibit “Spirits of the
People”, our map exhibit “The Stories Map Tell” and our Stanwood exhibit “A
Walk Down Market & Main Street and Along The Waterfront” at the History
Museum & Research Library behind the Pearson House.

*Spiritus Winds*
*Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m*
Spiritus Winds returns to the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center in Stanwood on
Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m in a concert featuring music for wind
quintet by Haydn, Persichetti, Francaix, Kancheli and Szervanszky.
Suggested donation (proceeds benefit the Stanwood Area Historical Society)
is $15, with youth admitted free of charge. Refreshments will be served
following the performance.
Members of the Seattle-based ensemble are flutist Danijela McElwee, oboist
Yuh-Pey Lin, clarinetist Jenny Ziefel, French hornist Paulette Altman and
